Phan Xi Păng to be precise. It’s the highest peak in this part of Asia located in the tourist trap / magical setting (nothing wrong with being both of these) of Sapa, Vietnam. There are a few ways to get to the 3,143m peak – you can trek from the base with a guide, around 2 days in 30+ degrees C or you can get the train. Then a cable car. Then a funicular – or on foot, with things to do and see and/or exit at each level.

Level 1 is the destination of the first train – Fansipan Legend, a touristy area – also accessible on foot and by car. Here there’s gardens, leisure facilities, cafes and shops and the cable car station to get level 2 – we’ll do that in the next post.

You start at the station in downtown Sapa
And soon you arrive at the Fansipan Legend station.

Once you’re out and about, there’s garden walks, photo-spots and some cafes and shops. And some willing subjects.
